URL Shortener
Clients posting links of their BIRDVIEW site on places such as Twitter, Facebook, Blogs, and other sites can now provide a short address rather than a long string. Long URLs also have a tendency to break lines in emails that prevent your intended audience from being able to simply click to access your site. Often times, your intended recipients are forced to copy and paste the url.
As an example, if you were sending a link to a pre-defined property search, it may have looked like this:
http://c21boyle.com/homesearch.htm?scope=ALL&mls=0&hometypes[]=1&minprice=100
000&maxprice=200000&bedrooms=4&bathrooms=2&city=glens+falls&state=NY&zipcode=
&radius=0&street=&county=&subdivision=&development=&garage=0&age=0&sqft=&acre
s=&association_fees=0&listing_status=A&email=Enter+Your+Email+Address!&autose
arch_length=279&autosearch_period=7&autosearch_receive=0&autosearch_format=HT
ML&action=Search
Now, you can use the new BIRDVIEW service to make the same link appear like this:
http://bv.gd/b
This is great for those clients who use text messaging to communicate with their clients and also for those using mobile devices.
To shorten your URL, follow these simple steps:
1. go to http://bv.gd/
2. Paste in your url
3. Select the time frame that you want this shortened URL to be active
4. Click the button labeled "Minify"
You may now paste this new URL into your blog post, email, instant message, tweet, or wherever else you like, and it will redirect to your original page until it expires.
Yes, it's really that short!
